Whitney Houston…
One of the most gifted singers that we will ever hear…She crossed genres, musical boundaries as few before her…Gospel…Rhythm and Blues…Dance…Pop…Nearly 200 million records sold…Grammys…Emmys…The most awarded female recording artist of all time…She had and gave it all for three decades…
Yet, for all of the joy that she bestowed upon us in life, as well as her record-breaking accomplishments, she has been granted precious little peace and dignity in her death…
Shockingly and painfully, this past week, popular Los Angeles radio shock jocks---John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou---were suspended and pulled from the airwaves after calling her a “crack ho’”, concluding that when “you find out she’s dead, it’s like, ‘really…took this long?’”
And New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has stirred up controversy and continues to face down angry critics as he has had to defend his decision to have flags flown at half-staff to honor New Jersey’s “Daughter”…
Why is this great artist on the receiving end of such disrespect? What should and will her legacy be?
Joining us will be:
- AL BELL, legendary STAX Records owner, songwriter and record producer…
- Renowned scholar/minister/best-selling author, REV. DR. MICHAEL ERIC DYSON…
- SIDNEY MILLER, Publisher of the entertainment industry bible, BLACK RADIO EXCLUSIVE Magazine…
